Homeopathy Helps Eczema: Hannah's Story

For many chronic health conditions, healing can take quite a bit of time. You have to remember that your chronic condition didn't just appear overnight so you're not going to heal overnight.

The medical profession (or maybe I should say the pharmaceutical profession) has made us believe that "healing" can occur in hours, days, or even weeks.

But that's just not true.

What they call "healing" is actually suppression. They give you a pharmaceutical drug as a bandaid and it covers up the symptoms making you think you're better. But doing this actually pushes health conditions deeper into the body where they become more severe conditions affecting more important organs. It's like pulling the battery out of the smoke alarm in your house as the fire just continues to rage on.

All this to say, true healing takes time. So if you choose to use homepathy for your chronic conditions, don't expect that it is going to be as quick as you're used to like when you take a pharmaceutical drug.

BUT...in some instances it can be!

Let me tell you a story about Hannah and her eczema.

The skin is the largest organ of our body. And it's also the outermost detox organ. So when we encounter toxins in the foods we eat, the cosmetics we use, and even the medications we take, it's only natural to see issues arise on the surface of the skin as a normal bodily detox response.

This is not a bad thing necessarily...unless you start suppressing it.

Take Hannah's hand.

Hannah started getting eczema on her left hand after her son's birth seven years ago. She hadn't been able to wear her wedding ring since...the same one she wore successfully prior to having her son.

Because Hannah was an acquaintance through one of my RV travel groups, I didn't know the full history of her pregnancy.

Did she have health issues during the pregnancy? Did she receive any vaccines during pregnancy? Was she induced? Did she have any complications that required medication at the time of delivery or afterwards?

Any number of these things could have led to use of medications and subsequent attempts by the body to rid itself of the toxic chemicals pumped into her. More on why this is important later.

What I did know from her post in the Facebook group is that she had tried several natural ointments that only palliated the issue. Each one would work for a period of time and then the eczema would come roaring back even worse.

Anytime she would wash dishes, fix a bicycle, or clean and pack up the RV for a move day, she would have to wear gloves. But even the disposable gloves would cause her hand to flare. Eventually she resorted to wearing cotton gloves.

But at the time of posting in the group, Hannah's hand had gotten so bad that it was oozing and crusting over and sticking to the cotton glove. She even resorted to going to the doctor a few days prior who just ended up prescribing her a steroid.

I don't know if she had used the steroid at that point (it didn't sound like she had), but she was desperately wondering what homeopathic recommendations anyone in the group could make.

If I can provide a recommendation for someone that might help or at least prevent them from reaching for a medication, I'm going to do it. So I had to chime in with a couple of recommendations.

First, Calendula cream. Instead of using the steroid or any other "natural" products that could still include ingredients that suppress the eczema, I let her know that Calendula could be very useful topical remedy to help soothe and heal the skin.

Second, I used the information she provided about her hand oozing and crusting to recommend a remedy that I knew she could quickly get at a local health food store...Graphites. Graphites is known for it's ability to heal eczema that oozes a honey-like, sticky substance which eventually crusts over.

While she didn't end up using the Calendula cream I recommended because it was an ingredient in another topical she already had, she did go straight to the health food store and grab Graphites 30c. She started taking it 3 times a day, and sent me this picture 6 days later:

She said it got a tiny bit worse the first day, then the skin peeled and it started getting better.

She continued using Graphites three times a day and here's what it looked like 17 days later (that's 23 days after starting Graphites):

That was a super quick and super amazing result! She was so happy and greatful for the recommendation, especially since she didn't need to turn to using the steroid.

If Hannah was to stop the remedy and the condition were to return, I would suggest that she pick right back up with the remedy as she had used it before. Over the course of many weeks or months, it's likely she could completely uproot this issue.

But as I mentioned before, I don't know the full history of her pregnancy and what may have led to the eczema in the first place. If there were medications of any kind used during pregnancy or after delivery, it's very possible that this condition could continue to return every single time she stops using Graphites.

While Graphites is a very good choice for this condition, there can be other factors in someone's health history and/or current life that can create what we call in homeopathy "obstacles to cure".

For example, if someone continues to slather topical steroids on their skin but at the same time is trying to use homeopathy for their skin, there's this sort of tug-of-war going on in the body. The steroid is pushing the condition inward and the homeopathy is pulling it outward. The person will likely not reach true cure because of the obstacle standing in the way...the steroid.

So in Hannah's situation (if she used medications in or after pregnancy), she may need deeper homeopathic help to clear out the obstacles to cure...the medications. In this instance she'd want to work with a homeopath that can dig into the case a little deeper and help guide her through that process homeopathically.

If you know someone with eczema that looks like Hannah's, be sure to send them this post. I hope it will help them too!

Just remember, there are many different homeopathic medicines that could help with eczema. If you try the remedy I recommended above and are not seeing success, please reach out for a consult with me so that we get your healing on the right track.
